A real eye-catcher. There is also the story of the tower guards who paid for the defense of the tower and thus also Hanover with their lives by being burned in the tower. Diagonally opposite there is the Four Seasons restaurant with a beer garden, where you should definitely stop by. From here, the tower can be viewed well with a cool drink and delicious food.
The former Hildesheimer Heerstr. crosses the former Hanoverian Landwehr on the border to Südstadt. The first mention of the outer city fortifications in 1355 was a watchtower that was rebuilt two years later after a fire in 1486. The first three floors of the round are made of brick and date from this time. In 1888 the tower was renewed and a protruding half-timbered floor with a spire was built. The upper area was partially destroyed in World War II. In the 1970s, the interior and roof were restored according to their condition at the turn of the century
