Originally the water came from the Fuhse Canal, but since about 2006 the lake has only been fed by groundwater and, in the event of flooding, from the Oker. It was intended to regulate the flooding of the Oker, and today it is a local recreation area and water sports paradise.

Had we really ended up in the Pacific Ocean on this, at least in this case, wonderful bike path? 🤔 We would have gotten completely lost without realizing it. 🚴🏽‍♂️🚴🏽 But we only had eyes for the Oker River and its truly beautiful banks. Who pays attention to the path? 😂 And who would have thought we'd end up in the South Seas? What an unexpected gem. 😉
