In the second half of the 15th century, the church got its present appearance. Breakstones, adapted to the late Gothic style, bear the lowered roof. From 1430 comes the dreiflügelige carved altar. The crucifix dates from the same century. 1647 was the new construction of the tower top floor with the hood of the previous church after the fire in 1631 (Wikipedia).

On October 17, 1707 Johann Sebastian Bach married his cousin Maria Barbara Bach in this church. The Traupfarrer Lorenz Stauber (born June 12, 1660 in Arnstadt, † April 8, 1723 in Dornheim) Bach wrote to his wedding the wedding cantata The Lord denket us (Wikipedia).
