09.08.2019 - Currently being restored there should be a museum and it looks like it will be finished soon,
The Senec Synagogue was built in 1825 and was the only Jewish prayer house in the area. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was completely rebuilt into its present form. The conversion was made in Moorish style with oriental and Art Nouveau elements. The synagogue was only used for its original purpose until the Second World War. In the previous period, after the war, few people from the large Jewish community returned to as many as a quarter of Sencas, leaving no one to serve. Totalitarian power transformed it into a granary, later into a warehouse. Currently the monument is in a rather bad condition. In the near future, however, it should be rebuilt and transformed into a multifunctional cultural center with a small museum exhibition dedicated to the history of the Jewish community in Senec.
