The city park is a small oasis to relax in: you can stroll around the large fountain, take a break under a shady tree or have a coffee in the castle Porcia.
Created more than 400 years ago by Count Johann von Ortenburg and protected by thick walls for centuries, the city park in Spittal is one of the most beautiful parks in Carinthia today! More than 400 trees give some tired cyclists and walkers shade in the midday heat. Plane trees (several 100 years old), linden, chestnut, beech, acacia, ash are just a few of the numerous tree species.
The 3.2 x 2.4 m picture frame in the middle of the park is the perfect setting for a souvenir photo with the castle and fountain in the background.
