Hike to the Nemes Alm on August 1st, 2022
Departure around 9 a.m. with bags and baggage
The tour started at 1,370 meters above sea level at Mitterberg Castle (path 136 Nemes Alm) from World War I above the Heimatsteig. The tour started on a paved road for about 1.5 km and then you come to forest soil and a good wide path which is also used as a farm track. At about 1650 meters above sea level you cross the downhill run (Schwarze Piste valley run). Then you walk a good forest path to Sickenaue which you cross through a tunnel.
You always walk along the path through the forest until you reach the Seikofel-Nemes biotope, from there you walk across a large nature reserve which is fenced in. Up to the Nemes Alm next to the paths there are always water points in the form of streams. Arrived at the Nemes-Alm there is a super nice beer garden with delicious food that is freshly prepared. The owner of the Alm, hunts himself and also passes this on to his customers.
On the way back we went back a bit on path 136 to the moor area, from there we also follow path 131 down the valley until you come to the camping sign. Then it goes down a dirt track to the left, which after about 1km comes back to a wide path, you walk this up to a caravan park in Sesto with a watercourse that invites you to cool off and fill up your drinking bottles. From there it goes along path 13A, where you will pass the Zinn Fux where you can stop for a bite to eat. If you continue walking you will pass a small cheese dairy and continue walking until you come to a crossroads, where you keep to the left further down the valley in the direction of Moos. Then you come to the village of Moos and can continue on the main road in the direction of Sesto.
The whole is about 18 km and in good condition it takes 4.5 hours to walk, but since you stop here and there for a few photos here and there you can count on a good 9 hours for the tour.
