We are sitting here on the saddle between the front peak and the main peak. The path runs along the flank of the lowest peak to this saddle (cairn). From here you can climb directly up a clearly marked path with a lot of loose rubble to the Kristinartindar summit (1126m).

Because of the view, it is worthwhile to dare the stony ascent.
It should be noted that this takes place on largely loose stone and is quite steep.
The further ascent to the summit is then really only for experienced hikers and not to be made in bad weather.

Great view of the craters and down to the plains towards the sea. At this point you have to decide if you dare the last climb to the summit. For us, the extremely steep, with loose stones and hardly recognizable as such "trail" without alpine experience did not seem feasible. We have decided to come back at this point.
