You used to be able to go into the yard and watch the ships go up and down. Unfortunately it is currently prohibited. Nevertheless, one can observe from afar. A nice place.

The Hindenburg lock is actually called the Anderten lock and was the largest inland lock in Europe when it opened in 1928. Of course, it was opened by President Paul von Hindenburg. With the red valve and pump houses, it is a real eye-catcher
