The Bartenstein, also called Barstein, is 615 meters high. The name comes from a legend in which it is said that a long time ago a bard was chained to a rock on the Bartenstein and fed by the animals of the forest.
The 617.6 m high Bartenstein, also popularly known as Barstein, is a mountain in the high Westerwald. It is located northwest of the village of Gusternhain in the area of the municipality of Breitscheid.
