This original work is a tribute to female beauty and represents a girl adjusting her bathing suit before diving into the waters of the Gulf of Vasto. The monument consists of a bronze statue placed on the rock of Scaramuzza and was built in 1979 by the Abruzzese sculptor Aldo D'Adamo. The statue is often mistakenly called "The Little Mermaid", perhaps due to its resemblance to the symbolic work of Copenhagen.

It is the statue of a woman bather who washes in the waters of the Golden Gulf of Vasto. It looks a lot like the Little Mermaid of Copenhagen and for this aspect alone we should ask for an institutional twinning with the capital of Denmark!
