The book stone is recommended for a break: Just turn off the bike, stroll around relaxed and enjoy the bizarre rock formations. Then you are again focused on one of the rooted singletrack descents. Please stay on the trails with your bike, drive without blocking tires and protect nature!

The Buchstein rocks are a protected natural monument and a geotope located near Bayreuth. This striking rock formation consists of sandstone from the so-called Bayreuth Formation (Rhaetian-Lias or lowest Lias). The rocks, reaching up to 10 meters in height, exhibit particularly beautiful cross-bedding, honeycomb weathering, and limonite crystallization. A popular hiking destination, the rocks are characterized by their location in the middle of a forest and constantly offer new perspectives due to weathering processes. A historic water reservoir dating from 1893 is also located nearby.
