The Grade II listed Kruiner Tunnel is 89 meters long and offers a combined train and car passage and a separate pedestrian and cycle path. The latter is kept very narrow. Please drive carefully at the entrance by bike, because you can see the oncoming traffic (pedestrians, e-scooters or other cyclists) very late. Above the tunnel runs a railway track, the construction of which is ultimately responsible for the tunnel, because the earth through which the tunnel passes was then completely filled up.

The Kruiner Tunnel is located on Gevelsberg's city limits to Ennepetal and connects these two cities together. It is 89 meters long and is at the same time a railway or road tunnel. The construction was begun in 1846 and completed and opened in 1882. Since 1988, the tunnel is a listed building.
