A small mountain that hosted one of the largest Celtic settlements in the northeast of the Peninsula. Mount Santa Tecla –Santa Trega, in Galician– and the fort of the same name. The Santa Tecla castro is the most emblematic and visited in Galicia and it is not surprising at all. A relatively well preserved citania –pre-Roman fortified city–, a small museum with unique pieces and sensational views.

Typical Celtic "Castro" at the lowest point of Galicia; beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Rio Minho, which separates Spain and Portugal. The climb is definitely worth it, up there is a cold beer and delicious croquetas.
On the Portuguese side is the cozy place Caminha, farther south lure beautiful sandy beaches and the Portuguese Way of St. James, which also pleases non-pilgrims.
