Unique Gate Lodge designed by Sir. Thomas Deane, and built in 1849. Built In gothic revival style, the lodge has a chimney at one end, and a hexagonal turret at the other. The lodge serves as an entrance to the beautiful and historical Dromore Castle, (former home to Ireland's only Wimbledon champion, Harold Sigerson O'Mahony.) Coillte (Forestry Board) also enjoys access for all its activities. Also access point for the newer mock-gothic castle constructed around the ruins of a folly (c. 1997) .
