The Georg Elser monument is located on the town hall square. He was born here in Hermaringen on January 4th, 1903. As a carpenter, he planned the assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler, which he carried out in 1939. However, Elser failed and was murdered on April 9, 1945, shortly before the end of the war in the Dachau concentration camp.
The monument was inaugurated on November 4th, 2019 by the Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
