A tall tower with allegedly 162 steps giving a good view of the area far above the treetops. On the way from Gülden you come to the tower well, the way coming from the south consists of field and forest paths and is quite sandy on a few hundred meters! The tower can be climbed for free at any time.

At 142 meters, the Hohe Mechtien is the highest point in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district (and thus exactly 1000 meters lower than the 1142 meter high Brocken, the highest mountain in the Harz Mountains). On the high Mechtien there is a 30 meter high wooden observation tower (also the highest in the district).

On the high Mechtien there is a 30 meter high wooden observation tower (also the highest in the district). The high Mechtien is covered all around by a (very beautiful) mixed forest. There are also very beautiful hiking trails here.
