If you follow the sign on Wildrose Road, which announces "Skidoo" in about 19 miles, you should be prepared to find no more building on site from the old gold mining town. The buildings were made of wooden tents. According to history, people were hanged here in public. If you continue along the road and into the rolling hills, you will find smaller relics and numerous (closed) mine entrances. About one kilometer further on, the path to the imposing Skidoo Mill is worthwhile.
