A very nice route. In the western forest you should avoid using the southern trail (also not part of this recommendation). I thought I'd do it, but rather regretted it because of the trees that are in the way and the relatively overgrown condition (end of May). But I think if you drive the way as described here, you can enjoy the whole trip. Goes slightly downhill from west to east.
