This point coincides with the traditional route of La Borricá, where the Standard-Bearer and the riders make ritual stops dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory, and where banners, symbols, and offerings have historically been placed. The Feast of the Souls has been documented since 1694 with the creation of the Confraternity of Souls.
