The Lower Seletar Reservoir was created in 1986 by constructing a dam at the mouth of the Seletar River to retain stormwater runoff from the upstream, urbanized catchment areas. The reservoir was originally called Sungei Seletar Reservoir before being renamed Lower Seletar Reservoir in 1992.
A park path with mostly level terrain traverses the elongated park, inviting visitors to enjoy a pleasant stroll, a jog, or a bike ride.
