With an average flow of approximately 8,600 liters per second, it is the most productive spring in Germany. The water originates from the Danube seepage basin in the northern part of the Aach River basin and feeds the Radolfzell Aach, which flows into Lake Constance approximately 32 kilometers between Moos and Radolfzell.
For many years, the hydropower was used for production by the Schiesser factories in Volkertshausen and Rielasingen.

Not far from Lake Constance lies the small town of Aach, the largest spring in Germany! It is not called Aachquelle, but 'Aachtopf' - although pot is a little understated for the small pond, which is permeated by diverse source flow.
On average, about 9000 liters of water bubble out of the depths into the sunlight every minute (on very good days that can be more than 20,000 liters !!!)
If you want to experience nature up close, this is the place for you!
Please do not bathe in the 'Aachtopf' !!
