"In 908, Braga became the capital of the Kingdom of Galicia. During the 10th century, the region was repeatedly subjected to Moorish raids. Braga has likely only borne its current name since the 11th century. However, it is not known when Braga received its city charter. In 1112, the city became the seat of an archbishop. In the 16th century, it was redesigned in the Baroque style, and in the 18th century, it was partially remodeled with Neoclassical buildings." [Wikipedia]
