The Pella Tulip Tower was built primarily to host performances, including the crowning of the Tulip Queen and traditional Dutch dancing during the festival. The original structure, a temporary wooden tower, was constructed in 1940. The current permanent tower, donated by Pete and Lucille Kuyper of the Pella Corporation, was dedicated in 1968. Designed with Dutch-inspired architecture, it is adorned with various crests and plaques that celebrate Pella’s heritage.
