The quintessential symbol of Florianópolis and the historic link between Santa Catarina Island and the mainland, the Santa Catarina Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in Brazil and one of the largest in the world at the time. Inaugurated in 1926 after four years of construction, it closed in 1991 and reopened in 2019, fully restored. Today, you can walk or cycle across it and enjoy one of the city's most iconic views.
