An 'Arca Dwarapala' is a statue of a gatekeeper in the teachings of Shiva and Buddha, depicted in the form of a human or an animal. Two Dwarapala statues, carved from monolithic stone and standing 3.70 meters tall, are located west of the 'Candi Singhasari'.
The name 'Dwarapala' comes from Sanskrit and means gatekeeper or guardian.
