Cannobio is a municipality in the Italian province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Piedmont region. The municipality is located on the western shore of Lake Maggiore and is the first major town after the border with Switzerland in Piaggio Valmara. Cannobio is located on the alluvial fan of the river Cannobino, in the hinterland extends the Valle Cannobina. The city name goes back to the Roman Canobinum (border area). "Cross Country"; not only geographically - between Piedmont, Lombardy and Ticino, but also historically their influences have shaped the development of the community.
