The Neisse weir near Zelz creates an impressive water landscape and marks an important point for water hikers and cyclists. The river is dammed here and cannot be navigated directly. The portage point on the Polish side leads along a hydroelectric power station that flows into a small canal. For kayakers, this means a detour of around 300 meters before they can get back into the river behind the weir.
The cyclists' rest stop "Zum alten Zollhaus" on the German side is also interesting and can be easily reached via the bridge. The surroundings invite you to take a rest and, with a bit of luck, you can also take a break at a small snack bar if it is open. The peaceful nature and the sound of the weir create a relaxed atmosphere that is particularly welcome after a long tour.
