St. Mark's Church is a Protestant church in the Frohnhausen district of Essen.

"St. Mark's Church is part of a community center grouped around a spacious church square. The freestanding bell tower (campanile) is reminiscent of Italian models. Amidst the low-rise buildings, the church building with its copper-clad tent roof rises prominently. [...] The actual church space can be understood, from an architectural history perspective, as a 'crossing,' resembling the area of a medieval church where the nave and transept intersect. In fact, the space is wider than it is long, and the longitudinal orientation of the church is only suggested by the central break in the entrance and chancel walls." The "crossing vault" appears to have been unfolded with the lightness of paper, but in reality it is a daring concrete structure, clad in wood on the inside and copper on the outside, supported only at the corners.
