The cliffs surrounding the Tuzbair salt pan are tens of millions of years old and were once the seabed.
The vast salt flat stretches beneath the breathtaking white cliffs of the Ustyurt plateau and covers 15 x 4 km. The salt field seems to extend endlessly and, on hot days, creates mirages and lake-like illusions.
It is astonishing how, over millions of years, wind and water have sculpted the most unique shapes of the 60-meter-high cliffs.
