A large, beautiful and impressive temple complex in Xiamen.
Nanputo Temple (or South Putuo Temple) is named this way because it is south of the Buddhist holy site Mount Putuo in Zhejiang Province. It is a large temple complex leaning against Mount Wulao and was originally built during the Tang Dynasty (around 600 to 900 AD). It was dismantled during the Yuan Dynasty, rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty and expanded during the Qing Dynasty.
