From Colmberg Castle, you can enjoy a stunning view of the Franconian Heights Nature Park. This medieval spur castle sits atop a 511-meter-high mountain cone above the Altmühl Valley and looks back on over 800 years of history, stretching from the Hohenzollern emperors to the Hohenzollerns.
The Franconian Heights Nature Park surrounding the castle encompasses over 110,000 hectares of a diverse landscape of mixed forests, orchards, and river valleys, characterized by sunny climates and rare plants such as orchids and pasque flowers.
