On the site of the Battle of the Thirty on March 26, 1351, where thirty Breton knights and squires clashed with thirty English, stands this cross, located behind the obelisk. It was erected in the 17th century to replace the "mid-way oak." It suffered damage and had to be re-erected in 1776. It was cut down by the revolutionaries in 1793 and rebuilt in 1823.
