The legend revolves around the Hundsmarter - the local mountain of Markersbach. Today, the upper reservoir (the upper reservoir) of the pumped storage Kaftwerk is located on the hilltop. According to the legend, the following story should have happened:

500 years ago, the Hundsmarterweibl for a vain reason his witch leg trampled on the Hundsmarter so that the mountain has risen and devoured it in a huge Feuerlohe. On the occasion of the 103rd German Hiking Day, which was held in 2003 in Schwarzenberg and the surrounding area, including Markersbach, the living figure of the Hundsmarterweibl was created.
