The small fishing port of Teshie - Sangonaa - is the heart of maritime life. The sun casts its last rays on the waves, while numerous fishing boats anchor outside, ready for the night's catch. As morning breaks, fishermen swim with powerful strokes to their familiar boats, which gently rock in the water. In the harbor itself, several boats lie stranded, stories of days gone by hidden in their hulls.
A new fishing boat is already being built on the quayside, shavings fly, and the smell of fresh wood fills the air. But despite the charming scenery, this place suffers from pollution. Waste floats to the surface, and the once clear view of the shimmering water is obscured. Were it not for this challenge, the harbor could be a true highlight with its special atmosphere and vibrant community of fishermen – a place where tradition and nature blend harmoniously.
