Stuttgart Fire Station 1 South is located between the Leonhards and Heusteig districts. Built in 1888 for the then 1st Battalion of the Volunteer Fire Department, this station, still preserved as such, is the oldest in the Stuttgart Fire Department. With the establishment of a professional fire department in 1891, this fire station forms the historical core of the entire Stuttgart Fire Department.
It has a fire engine consisting of a command vehicle (KdoW), two rescue pumpers (HLF-A and -B), and a turntable ladder (DLK 23/12) with rear axle steering.
