The twelve meter high, tapering wooden construction is a half-timbered construction made of heavy spruce beams. The conical shape of the construction increases its perspective effect and makes it appear higher than it really is. At the same time, this artificial perspective lifts the sculpture out of its natural environment and gives it a virtual, surreal character.

The figure painted in the window always makes me feel like I'm being watched or even monitored. I always have to think of the watchtowers on the former "Iron Curtain" between the two parts of Germany.

The path leads over a wooden walkway and past the works of art by the artist group SALIX, along moist meadows and wooded areas. When you see the parking attendant, a twelve-meter-high wooden construction by the artist Wilhelm Schiefer, you are almost there. There is a small lawn with benches next to the work of art. From here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the open meadow and water landscape.

11 hectares of agricultural area were transformed into a floodplain landscape with ponds, floodplains and reed areas. The centerpiece is an artificially created oxbow lake, which is connected to the straightened Niers via a threshold.

The Niersauenkoncept provides for the Niers and the adjoining floodplain areas to be gradually redesigned so that habitats for rare animals and plants are restored and effective flood protection is created through retention areas. ... "
