The old Mombasa road is a more quiet, partially derelict road with less or no traffic, to avoid a few miles of the new Mombasa Road Highway. Here it passes the Main station for trains to the coast at Mombasa. its best to just bike all the way to the coast if you have time, though the road can be dangerous. According to rules on the official website bikes can be transported on the train, but the security personnel made it virtually impossible, forcing to lock and leave the bike here in a storage room and rent another one in Mombasa for the weekend trip. Maybe disassembled and packed in a box it might have been accepted as luggage.
