Aawiesenpark is a 4.5 hectare green space created in 1987 east of the Aa River in the East Westphalian town of Herford. On the local recreation area there are spacious meadows overgrown with trees, flower beds and paths as well as an artificial pond, a children's playground and a calisthenics park. The northern part of the area is designed geometrically with circular areas, the remaining part was designed as a landscape park with the two focal points of a play area and a pond, which is spanned by a bridge. On the embankment at the “Fredericia-Ufer” circular square there is a column fragment from the former Karina chocolate factory on Hansastraße and a pavilion stands on a hill. In the southeast, the park merges into the grounds of the Old Cemetery.
