The power plant was built between 1931 and 1936 and began operation in 1936. The power plant is majority-owned and operated by Fortum. The Krångede power plant has six Francis turbines with an installed capacity of 248.4 MW. Average annual production is 1.6224 billion kWh. The head is 60 m.
