ST. ANTONIUS – PAPENBURG The mighty tower of St. Antonius Church rises 88 meters high. It is the landmark of the Untenende district of Papenburg and is affectionately known locally as "Langer Anton." The tower symbolizes what transcends us and our visible reality.
St. Antonius Church was consecrated in December 1877 after four years of construction. It stands on a foundation of more than one million clinker bricks. For every stone used above ground, there is also one below.
