The Werra River is fed by two springs and flows through Germany's geographical center. A variety of wonderful spots await those who enjoy the riverside paths.

One of these is located here on the way to the Eisfelder Ausspanne (recreational area). The water is very cold. A seating area is available. From here, you can take several paths up ↗️ towards the Rennsteig. The descent from there leads past the idyllic rafting pond to Sachsenbrunn with its centuries-old dancing linden tree.

This pond was once used to dam up water so that wood could be floated down into the valley when it was drained.

Beautifully situated pond in the middle of the forest with seating. Here branches off several ways. However, only one goes downhill to Sachsenbrunn, the rest all uphill.
