It is the largest of the Friulian natural lakes (it is 6500 meters long), it bathes the territory of three municipalities, Cavazzo Carnico, Bordano and Trasaghis, for this reason it is also called Lake of the Three Municipalities. It is fed both artificially and by natural underground springs.
