The first Catholic wooden church in Prezma was built in 1781. It was seven axes long and five axes wide. The church was built by Francis Sokolowski and was located in the Soltāni manor. The church was demolished in 1858.
The current stone church was built in place of the old church in 1859 at the expense of Vladislav and Octavian Soltāni. In 1897, Bishop F. A. Simon consecrated it in honor of the apostles Simon and Jude.
