The castle in Winnenden, south of and below the old town (formerly Winnental Castle of the Teutonic Order) cannot be visited. It houses the administration of the Center for Psychiatry in Winnenden. The castle garden, a large, beautifully landscaped park, is freely accessible.

The Winnenden Castle Hospital - Winnenden Psychiatry Center is a specialist hospital for the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatment and care of adults. It was opened in 1834 under the name "Royal Winnenthal Hospital" and located in the premises of the former castle.
