I drove the route in early May 2022 and didn't find it too bad, but not exactly comfortable either. A little bumping is inevitable. But I wouldn't make a detour. The rough stones have probably partially sunk in the sand and clay. You could otherwise mostly dodge.
Oh yes: I was on the road with a normal touring bike, multi-day luggage and no shock absorbers.

No fun with luggage and bike. For MTB but also not recommended because too little demanding.
