Hein Timm (born November 12, 1908 in Hamburg, † May 19, 1985 in Norderstedt) was a German folk singer, writer, songwriter and composer.
Hein (rich) Timm was the son of a grain dealer in the Hamburg district of Eppendorf. After attending the Bismarck secondary school, Timm completed a commercial apprenticeship and initially worked in his father's company.
In May 1942 Hein Timm had married after twelve years of engagement, his childhood sweetheart Lotte Pearl, with whom he had two children. In 1953 he met Gunda Schubert in a public appearance, with whom he moved to Henstedt-Rhen in 1961. Under her stage name Gundi Hein, Gunda Schubert often stood on stage with her partner and sang records with him. For his 75th birthday, the community honored the singer with the renaming of Quellenweg at the source of Alster in Hein-Timm-way.
