The church was built as a chapel at the Salesian Monastery of St. Francis de Sales, established in 1931 on the former estate of Countess Bismarck-Bohlen. The church was rebuilt in 1936 from an old sheepfold. During the occupation, the church and other buildings were owned by the Germans.
In 1950, Bishop Walenty Dymek established the parish of Christ the King, separating it from the parish of Doruchów.
