Personally, I don't find the memorial stone (for the former mayor Hitzackers, Freiherr von dem Bussche) particularly interesting. I think the little dwarf statue (a dwarf forging a sword) that stands opposite the memorial stone is much nicer. The many little bronze gnomes in Hitzacker are really cute and great photo opportunities for me!

He studied agriculture at the Georg-August University in Göttingen. Following his studies in Göttingen, he completed practical training in agriculture and forestry and studied three more semesters at the Eberswalde Forest Academy. From 1949 to 1972 he was mayor of Hitzacker and from 1956 to 1968 district administrator of the Lüchow-Dannenberg district.
