The Gerberbrunnen (Tanners' Fountain) is located at the beginning of Mohrenstraße. Tanners were first documented in Coburg in 1474. Because they needed water for their trade, they settled along the Hahn River and had their headquarters in the Lohgraben and Gerbergasse. The fountain sculpture was created by the sculptor Franz O. Lipp. The fountain sculpture depicts tanners at work. A verse by Hans Sachs about the tanner's craft adorns the water basin.
