Puyuan Old Town, or its official name: Puyuan Fashion Ancient Town.
From what I could piece together from the information I found Puyuan is a town dating back to the Southern Song Dynasty (so almost 1000 years). It has undergone a years long modernization, restoration and beautification project. It was opened in 2023 as a tourist resort with a fashion infused theme, trying to link it to the nearby clothing industry.
The town is really beautiful, with amazing views around every corner and plenty of opportunities to take awesome photos. Specially in late afternoon, with the sun light softening and the lights coming on it looks amazing.
Yet what it is lacking (at least in my opinion) is life and a soul. The old town does not have residents anymore, so if you are looking for a glimpse into daily life in an old town, then this is the wrong place. It is all shops and dining and drinking. More like a large museum.
You enter the town through the visitor center and after paying 120 RMB (as of May 2025) entrance fee.
